Acording to The Inquirer we will soon see the 2Ghz Pentium 4. The part should ship this month, and should cost somewhere around $565. If that's too much it'll cost you $260 for the 1.8Ghz and $375 for the 1.9Ghz version. The same Inquirer story also has pricing info for the new Pentium 3.

what it seems like to me is that the people who know about computers or are on a budget usually buy amd. if your a dumbass about computers or are a wealthy person then you get intel. this is because the dumb people don't know about amd so they just get lowend p3 (which equivilant price amd beats because amd is less expensive)

Oh, and I bought a 1.33 GHz Athlon T-bird for $143. That's pretty good, considering how the 1.4 is pretty much equal to the P4 (and much better on straight FPU performance).
