by Steve Gibson, Jul 18, 2001 7:23am PDTTry to ignore the dancing bear please. Slept in a little bit on accident... No breakfast yet so I'm grumpy! Email has been flaky since yesterday evening for Maarten and myself as we are doing some shuffling on the backup server. (I still run all the email services through that server) so apologies in advance if you dont get a response. Should have things up and going smoothly again though soon. Movie: Women will sleep with you if you write a bad book.

But for some reason once you start you can't quit.
It costs 5 bucks a pack here. Yet I don't even think about it.
But when I have to pay 5 bucks for the lunch special at the deli down the street, I get pissed.

C++ or Visual Basic? I have access to real super-jumbo bookstores here, and the ability to leaf through a tome before buying it cannot be beat. However, I *still* haven't decided whether to try and learn C++ or VB. A little help here, folks?

Combine the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park...wait...make them look better...there ya go. Okay, combine the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park with the basic plotline of Aliens, toss in some great cinematography...and a bit of over-the-top humor and fictionalized hyperrealistic situations, and you have Jurassic Park III.
Is it a great film? No.
Is it a fun film? Yes.
Will I be buying it on DVD? I doubt it.
The folks making this sequel knew that the Jurassic Park franchise was practically run into the ground. They tried to recover, and for a while, I really got to thinking they did...but the movie still leaves you pretty cold. I'd wait for the matinee, the bargain theater, or the div--the DVD for rental.
If you're a big-time JP fan like I am, go see it. You'll enjoy yourself, but toss aside all preconceived notions that the franchise is still possibly survivable, and accept the fact that this is as well a made me-too sequel as any other, if not more so.

wtf. they're doing this Sims thang on Drew Carey. Kinda funny actually.
Family Guy is on in 30 minutes!!!!
My eyes are still in pain after watching that movie though. It was like staring at a computer screen for two hours looking at how real they were able to make Aki's Hair(that girls got some serious hair gel!), the character's lip movement(not great, but okay), the action sequences(cool), and still trying to pay attention to what the movie is about. I don't think I blinked once throughout that movie. :) I even had a hard time driving home because my eyes didn't want to stay open.
Anyways, the story was good but I didn't like that over the top villain in the movie. Can any military officer have that much power over a city and a weapon? Geeezzzz. They try to justify his reasons for killing the ghosts but if there's one thing that 3D animation can't show is a person suffering in pain.
A little lack of facial expressions in some scenes, but overall SquareSoft did a good job with it. That guy who was piloting the plane and car had probably the worse lip movement in the movie. It just didn't match up with the voice in the movie.
this whole time I kept thinking that the designers really focused in on putting a lot of detail to the movie, which for the most part they did. However, I DID SEE BLURRY GROUND TEXTURES! HA HA! :P
I would recommend this movie for people who appreciate Japanese storytelling and animation. If you're not into that sort of thing than don't see it. If your the kind of person who thinks Gundam Wing and Outlaw Star were cool shows than you gotta see this thing. It has a sad ending kinda like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but hopeful for the future.
OverBurn, you agree? :)
