Evening Reading
by Steve Gibson, Jul 17, 2001 6:00pm PDTThere are a lot of college and high school boys and girls who have been forced to purchase rubber sheets due to the impact ER has had on their life. Are you one of them?
- Being trapped with a toilet isnt cool, man. - This isnt romantic, this is pathetic. - Aww... little Britney is growing up. Isnt that sweet? - A Russian hax0r got arrested at the recent Def Con show. He cracked the eBook and all 8 eBook customers are using it! - New Jersey people think they are special because they have aliens visiting. - A fight worth fighting for. Keep the boobies free.Lastly, some lady wants to wear a bikini outside in her own yard and apparently that's offensive.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown preview
for me:
1] 12 monkeys, im a fan of terry gilliam, and everything about this movie screams brilliance
2] Usual Suspects, a good old fashioned thriller, one of the best double twists in a movie
3] Pulp fiction, nice on face value, but the hidden religious undertones really make the movie
4] Fight club, a brilliant movie with a brilliant climax, above all else, simply beautiful
5] Blade Runner, i'd say the most beautiful movie ever made, beats anything ILM have done, plus it asks
some really deep profound questions about god.
Just curious to see if there are any big movie buffs like myself here :)

1] Terry gilliam : member of monty python, and co directed their initial movies, then went on to make classics such as, baron munchausen, 12 monkeys, brazil, fear & loathing etc.
2] Hitchcock : explanation not required
3] Tarintino : Its almost become a cliche to be a fan of tarintino, but if you look past the super violence, i just get the feeling im watching the works of a modern day shakespeare.
4] David Fincher : director of the game, se7en, fight club)

i have a cost_center table that has the following rows:
a costcenter number
a 9 digit hierarchy code (something like ABIFEADEF) cct_hier_pt_cd
columns with the name for each of the letters in the 9 digit hierarchy code (A = Asia, B=Bank, I=International) hir_lvl1_hier_de, hir_lvl2_hier_de, hir_lvl3_hier_de
i need to select unique hir_lvl1_hier_de but i also need the first level of the cct_hier_pt_cd
i can't just do select unique hir_lvl1_hier_de, cct_hier_pt_cd from ced.cost_center because each row has a unique cct_hier_pt_cd and it ends up bringing back everything.
anybody have an idea?

I'm thinking I should
I just rented "The Family Man" and "Saving Silverman" last night. I was surprised at "The Family Man" I thought it would be much worse (thanks again you fucking critics). I expected what I got from SS, a few laughs, a fun story, and another movie I will likely never watch again

"People won't want to pay $50 or $60 a game to see that," O'Neal said. "I wouldn't pay to see that. I wouldn't watch that crap on TV. I'd watch the Young and the Restless before I'd watch that crap."
