According to this news article, AMD is seeing the results of a slowing economy. Sales fell 17% compared to the first quarter of this year, where 10% was expected. Wall Street was expecting a 20-32 cents income per share , but this will only be 3 - 5 cents. Bummer.

The thing im starting to realize now is ever since athlon got introduced the fan base of the company have been growing. Therefore people complained about intel is just ripping people off because they dont have a better price to performance ratio. As months and months go buy I realize that these amd's fan base is also starting to get blinded by the idea that intel is being more competitive and automaticaly assuming that the p4 is crap when it has new technology and companies are starting to use and program for it. Now that the sales have fell what to say i dont know. BTW i own a athlon, but from the looks of it in from two years from now im going for an intel due to the fact that its based on newer tech and as we all know people will program for the new tech

I like AMD, my 1.2Ghz Tbird its the best processor I've ever owned. I'm gonna get dual athlon 4's (the throughbred cores) next year, along with a GeForce 3 Ultra.
