CNet is reporting that Intel has started shipping their new Pentium 3. This is the first Intel CPU to use 0.13-micron manufacturing process. Previously it was 0.18 micron. The speed of this new "Tualatin" Pentium 3 is 1.13Ghz. Mobile version of this CPU will appear later next month.

This chip is quite speedy....have one here from Gateway. Blows past P4 in many things....where this chip shines though is in SMP configurations.

I am interested in seeing how this affects the competition between the P4 and the P3.. I mean.. It's 0.13 now, and that makes the CPU faster too damnit. Intel must have set some stops or so..
