Ok damn it, I think I'm gonna have to cave in and get a GameBoy Advance. I cant avoid it. The good news is when I pathetically caved in yesterday afternoon and called a couple of stores they were all sold out. Anyone know a place that has GBA's in stock in Redmond/Seattle area? At least I held out for almost a week and that may have saved me... heh Gonna head up to Canadia to visit with some friends this weekend before moving. Shipping outa here in just over a week. I shopped around with moving companies and it's crazy how much the prices shift depending on the mood of those guys. The first estimate I was given was $4,400! Finally managed to find someone (Atlas) who will do it for a bit over half of that. The lady who came over to give an estimate was an Asheron's Call nut. She told me her husband wasted all his time on this page. I didnt want to break it to her that she wasnt exactly curing cancer playing AC all day. :) IOTD: The guys in the Navy get to do all the cool stuff. Thanks Aleph Movie: I had the air-conditioning checked. I don't know what for. You never allow me to turn it on.

  • this isn't good news for Retro Studios.... add to the fact that fatbabies has been nearly spot-on when reporting Retro rumours (lay-offs, cancellation of Thunder Rally etc..), it is definitely not good....

It seems Retro Studios may be still be in dire straits and may very well have halted work on its RPG project, Raven Blade. ThatÂ’s the indication from games industry rumour site Fatbabies at any rate. Check it out:

Rumors are surfacing that "The Rare of North America" are dropping, halting, and generally fucking off their RPG game, possibly in favor of Metroid. Excellent work - that's $40 million dollars and three years spent on one game that still isn't playable yet? Looks like that old Ion Storm magic is rubbing off on Retro - "The Rarely Published of North America."
You may have tracked some of Raven BladeÂ’s troubles in our Metroid preview, which in its 5/9 update printed the venting of a Retro employee in lieu of layoffs:

“These worthless programmers got FIRED because they have held up the progression of this LAMEASSED RPG game. It's only a matter of time before Nintendo shitcans RPG and tries to recoup their losses from Metroid.”

Now it seems this very well could be happening.

For what itÂ’s worth, what was shown of Raven Blade at E3 looked very promising, although only very little was shown.

any insight, oh mighty Jack Mathews, with one T.
