I'm gonna assume that this chipset is designed for the OEM market, like Compaq or Gateway.

This is only stated with the given knowledge that your average hardcore gamer would prefer to keep thier options open when it come to video and audio card selection.

Maybe that's why the boards come with an AGP slot too? (they do, right?)

I give these bench marks the rating of *DODGY*. What kinda dickless freak did these? Any thing could trounce a MX200 and especially an m64. And the 1.2 athlon constantly outperforms the p4 1.5 anyway. You can do self comparisons to get real results, but ultimately it is just shifty.

It is worth noting that when cross referenced with other results from a 1.2Ghz Athlon I found on Tom's Hardware that the Nvidia board only scored 10 points higher in Sysmark 2000. That is less than 5% faster than the AMD760. The SiS735 chipset bests it in most cases. Unless the sound is something spectacular, I'm not all that impressed.

According to the site, the nForce 220 is a GeForce2MX + nVIDIA Hardware DX8 Audio Processor + 128MB DDR SDRAM configuration while the 420D is a GeForce2MX + nVIDIA 3D Audio w/Dolby Digital 5.1 + 2x 128MB DDR SDRAM configuration.

It's obviously an OEM-grade board that is not aimed at the high-performance crowd. Only the cheap-ass OEM's look for integrated video and audio.

I will probably slap this board into a briefcase and have a schweet LAN PC. It took people long enough to realize that inexpensive and integrated doesn't necessarily have to mean a piece of shit.
