Soldier of Fortune 2 Preview

Gamespot has put up a new preview of Raven's latest, Soldier of Fortune 2. It's far more comprehensive than their previous look at the game, with an overview of tech changes, weapons and missions in the game, and also featuring quotes by Raven's Dan Kramer. There's new screenshots for you to take a look at as well.

"In one mission, John Mullins mans the gun on the side of a helicopter, and his mission is to protect another helicopter full of soldiers. The pilot flies you through the area, and your mission objectives range from protecting the soldiers to destroying certain emplacements to taking out the enemy before your helicopter takes too much damage." Although the overall game will be for the most part fairly linear, Kramer told us that their ICARUS scripting system will let them create multiple ways to reach mission objectives. ...

"If one were to speculate, knowing Raven's very tight relationship with id Software I really wouldnt be surprised if SoF2 is going to be using the new DOOM technology that The Carmack has been working on for some time. Actually I'll go out on a limb and bet on it. If I'm wrong and Raven isnt doing SoF2 based on the DOOM technology I'll post a picture of my naked butt. Deal? Scared yet?"

Hopefully, it's executed a little bit better than SiN. There was nothing quite like shooting through the bottom of the helicopter to off the bad guys on the roof, eh?
