Can it be? Lionhead has actually released a developer beta patch for Black & White. Unsupported and untested by Electronic Arts, this patch comes with a good amount of fixes as seen on the download page. And guess what? It's on Fileplanet, yay! It's a 8.4mb file. Saw that on VE.

The game had a lot of appeal to me... i bought it... i installed it... couldn't get it to work. I've been playing since i was 12 with an old Spectrum (i'm 29 now) and no other game has ever resisted to my config tweakings. This game has. I returned it and got my money back.

You SUCXS, Lionhead! The game looks great but its badly programmed!!

The word "Death" no longer said when villagers die of old age.

I thought that was kind of cool, actually.

Worship Site bug where villagers took massive amounts of food has been fixed.

This pissed me off to the point where I stopped playing.

'omg lionhead sucks, this patch doesn't work/fux0red my machine/caused a reboot!' - that's why its labeled a "developer beta patch". that's why they are not supporting it. that's why EA is still testing this in their QA labs.
'omg fileplanet sucks!' - they are already doing an oc3 and tens of thousands of dollars a month of traffic. they can't download to everyone on the web.

Sigh... I'm getting the problem with the splash screen showing and then nothing happening. PB&W and the B&W forum have posts about this being because of an old version of Daemon Tools, something to bypass CD protection, but I hadn't even heard of that thing until now.

/me puts the B&W CD back in the bookshelf. What a fucking pathetic effort. I don't care if the patch is beta or not, all of this should have been sorted out MONTHS ago.

LOL this patch doesn't even fucking work!! It keeps saying I must have B&W installed in order to run the patch. I'm running it from the fucking B&W root directory too! What bullshit is this? Then it gives some other random error. Lionhead are a bunch of fuckoffs

i installed the patch, ran the game, it gave me a warning that the patch is beta, i clicked ok, my computer reset. bahahahah .poor lionhead [and poor consumer (aka me) who bought their game]. i used brackets and parentheses. pw3eened.
