Athlon4 Mobile Chip
by Maarten Goldstein, May 14, 2001 7:01am PDTAMD is launching the Athlon 4 today, as a mobile chip to compete with Intel. The Athlon 4 will be launched at 1Ghz, and the new Duron will be running at 850mhz. The Athlon4 1Ghz will just be $425 compared to Intel's $722 for a 1GHz Pentium3, so hopefully we should see cheaper, faster notebooks. AnandTech has also posted a review of the thing and of course he gives us the skinny on the new technology involved.
