Asus Endorses Cheating

Word from the guys at 3DChipset and RivaStation is that Asus has once again released drivers for their cards that support transparency and wireframe modes allowing people to cheat in online games. Everyone congratulate Asus on the no fucking consideration for the online gaming community award! In August of last year Asus first posted word on the new features they wanted to put into their drivers before releasing them. After the uproar of the gamers they posted a poll asking if they should and after overwhelmingly being told no they promised to not release the drivers. Congratulations again Asus, we all thank you.

  • Rather than just bitching and complaining about it, why not use your collective voice as gamers! After all, we are the very community that their marketing department want's to sell to. Use that advantage to let them know how disgusted you are.

I'm sure everyone here has email, so use it. But sound professional and responsible. After all, we want to hold ASUS accountable for their actions.

Here some email addresses to send to:

    Marketing: tmd1@asus.com
    info@asus.com.tw
    Tech Support: tsd@asus.com.tw
    tsd@asus.com

If you need some ideas for email content, you're welcome to use or edit what I sent:

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I just want to write and express my complete disappointment and outrage at your latest release of Detonator Drivers. Many web-sites are covering the fact that these new drivers once again allow for players to use transparency while in game allowing what is effectively called a "wall hack." Several months ago, you did the same thing and then removed the feature after much anger expressed by the gaming community.

As a professional in the computer industry and an avid gamer, I'm disgusted by Asus's blatant disregard for the gaming community. That same gaming community that rushes out to buy your latest products. I'm sure you will use some excuse to say these drivers are designed to allow new players to achieve more, but the fact is, ALL gamers have to learn to play.

Well I can assure you I will not buy another ASUS product so long as you continue to release and support drivers that take away from my enjoyment of gaming! There are simply to many other excellent hardware vendors that there to support the gaming community rather than contribute to an already growing based of cheaters.
