New VIA Processor

The Register is reporting that VIA keeps on trying with their own processors, and an update to their roadmap shows a new CPU which will debut at 1.2Ghz. It will be the successor to the current Ezra budget CPU. The new CPU should be released late this year or early next year, which seems a little late since Intel and AMD are beyond 1.2Ghz now already.

It is like Via is blind to the entire market. Even if they are trying to hit the value sector they are missing the mark. Freakin Durons/Celerys are dirt cheap and always smash the performance of VIA's cpus

although il bet this cpu will be pretty cool (temperature wise) since its going to be .13 micron. if they make it compatible with the amd boards already on the market then it might be worth it, because its clock speed may be slow but at .13 it would generate less heat when you overclock it. so possibly it would be a good OC cpu.
