If AMD manages to pull off multiprocessing without a hitch, they'd be besting Intel at everything. So far, though, they're getting to a rocky start in SMP.

HAHAH EAT IT INTEL!

You know the funny thing is I just got, totally by accident, one of those spiffy 1ghz AXIA T-birds.

check out http://www.overclockers.com and you'll see that all the AX series chips hit 1.4 or 1.35ghz pretty reliably. Damn. Just when we thought AMD had hit the wall, they open up more headroom.

Can't wait for a 1.7ghz Palomino.. go AMD!

I am totally happy with my amd 850. Can't say the same for my p3 550. So far I'm a happy amd customer and my next system is likely to be an amd. (assuming I stay with the computer upgrading every 18 months for games thing)

Lower prices = more sales = better profit.

Especially when there's an entire line of processors that your competitor is making thats better and a lot cheaper.

Intel has been sucking due to:

1. Support of Rambus. Rambus=shit. Should have supported pcddr

2. Motherboard chipsets just aren't any good at all for p4's. Who the fuck wants integrated audio and video on their motherboard?

3. Price performance ratio is just plain shitty in p4's.

4. 0 advertising for the benefits of p4's over existing p3's. Perhaps there just aren't any!

5. AMD keeps on making smart moves and giving people what they want! Intel is becoming another 3dfx story...

Cisco reported a bad outlook last night and the market in general seems to be holding up.
