Unreal2 Preview

It's a reprint from the April 2001 issue of PC Gamer, and features quotes with info on the game from several people at Legend Entertainment. There are also several screenshots and such, but nothing new there. Saw that on Stomped.

Using AI comrades will add a unique twist, as you'll be able to command probably four or five supporting marines using an interface designed to be fast and effective. I've been contemplating replacing Galaxy in UT with FMOD; disabling sound in UT gives a huge framerate boost on lower machines, and a gain of a few frames per second on high-end machines.

Sorry, just wanted ot get that out of the way before anyone else did.
And the comrade thing has potential if done correctly. I mean, Mrathon had a nice early version of it, and UT did it quite well for team-based CTF, although it'll be interesting to see how that transfers (or if it does, or is redone) in a real story-driven single-player game.
And as for the Daikatana implementation, well the less said about that, the better.
