FPS Renegade
by Steve Gibson, Apr 10, 2001 2:36pm PDTWell isnt this strange. C&C Renegade in development over at Westwood Studios has evolved into a FPS game much like a couple other popular upcoming titles. Halo from Bungie and Metroid from Retro. According to the preview over at PCZoneUK (Thanks Blues) Renegade [screenshots] will be offering the option of a 3rd person mode but the FPS perspective will be the default:
"The game was going to be third-person as we thought that this would be the best way to see your character in the environment. You can see him shooting, rolling, ducking, dodging, and you have a better idea of where you are in the environment.", explains Mike. "We've discovered since that on a PC more people play from the first-person and like that style of game better, so we thought that it'd be great to keep the third-person style and add a first-person mode."
