Next AMD Chip in June
by Steve Gibson, Mar 25, 2001 12:40pm PSTAMD is hard at work on their next-gen CPU as they have been for quite a while. Guess what though, it's getting close! The Palomino CPU will show up in mobile units first, and then hit the desktops at 1.5GHz and move on from there.
The Palomino core will first make its appearance in the 1GHz mobile version, which will ship in major notebook makers' products starting in June. [...] The changes between current processors and the Palomino design mainly center on refinements to the limiting components of the pipeline, which will allow it to be introduced at 1.5GHz and go up from there.Cool, June isnt that far away is it?
