More Tribes2 Previews
by Maarten Goldstein, Mar 09, 2001 7:21am PSTWith Tribes2 hopefully going gold soon (story) more and more previews from this game are going online with impressions of the new beta version that's in testing. Along with those impressions come a lot more screenshots, just when you thought they couldn't possibly take any more. There are actually 48 Tribes2 screenshots here (thanks Blues News for that one), taken from the Linux build. Tribalwar also has a big preview, which features a new screenshot from every level in the game (it's almost like you finished the game without playing it). Besides that though they also show you the login screen, shots from the intro and a whole lot more. Pretty much everything from the game is explained.
What we can say is this. Tribes2 offers the same adrenaline rush that we got from Tribes1. Sure, it's a sequel -- but in many ways, this is such a different game. The weapons and other goodies are still here, but they look, feel, and sound different. The graphics are simply out of this world! Trust me when I say these token screenshots do the game no justice! The trails of smoke from the mortar...the shockwaves eminating from explosions...the bits & pieces that fall to the ground...the smoke that wisps from damaged equipment....man. We could go on and on!
