Companies Sued over Fans

Ok now this is just pathetic. A manufacturer of fans is sueing Creative and NVidia over their use of miniature fans to cool their cards/chips. Sunonwealth Electric Machine Industry claims to hold patents on the fans that Nvidia and Creative import. Saw that on Stomped.

  • this looks kinda different to me than all those other so called patent infringements...
this is a maker of fans (i.e. they actually do/make something)
that has got a court to agree with them, not the patent office but A COURT OF LAW... they filed the suit against the rival maker in 1998 according to the article..
"U.S. Federal Judge Florence-Marie Cooper decided that ADDA has created a 'misleading public record' of the patent case filed against ADDA. Further, the judge ordered ADDA to explain why it should not be held in contempt"

"ADDA settled the case by paying Sunonwealth and accepted a permanent injunction prohibiting ADDA and its affiliates from infringing the Patents and from selling the infringing fans"
sunon fans have been around forever?
    different or what?

    Monkie!
    p.s. not that i'm a sunon fan :P
