NOLF BETA Patch

by Maarten Goldstein, Feb 04, 2001 2:41pm PST

The No One Lives Forever website has a beta patch for the North American edition which features multiplayer fixes as noted in the collective NOLF team .plan update. The beta patch is a 10.6mb download. A few of the changes

- Improved object Interpolation/Extrapolation (helps remove players/rockets "jumping" around bugs) - Added server upload throttling code. The server throttling works by turning down the update rates of the clients when too much data is being sent for the connection to handle. - Optimized packets (so less bandwidth is used). - Stand Alone Server: Added several command line paramaters to allow server operators to bypass the setup wizard. - Fixed a bug that caused the level to never end if Frag Scoring was turned off in H.A.R.M. vs UNITY games.
If the Monolith site is slow, there are mirrors of the file at Blues News and 3D Gamers.
