Rogue Spear Gold

Saw over at Voodoo "We Update Naked" Extreme that Rogue Spear, the sequel to Rainbow Six has gone gold.

By popular demand, the Rainbow team is back...and tougher than ever. Due to the groupÂ’s fantastic success with diffusing major terrorist incidents, the international community has come to depend on Rainbow as the main force secretly protecting citizens worldwide. Thus, the story continues in Tom ClancyÂ’s Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear with the team's initial missions being business as usual: a hostage situation at a world-renowned art museum and an airplane hijacking. However, players soon discover that these crisis situations are actually related to the nefarious plots of not one, but two antagonists. Through a series of increasingly difficult missions, players must uncover the terrorists' deadly master plan or else.
I really liked Rainbow Six. Something exhilirating about creeping around knowing with one shot, you'll most likely be dead. I think I'll go pick this one up too.

  • Hey, you didn\'t have to play it on MPlayer. The Zone works fine! By the way, I can\'t wait to see how the unofficial \"cops and robbers\" gameplay handles in Rogue Spear. :)

If you don\'t know what that is, it\'s easy - one player is the robber, who gets to use any weapon he/she chooses. Everyone else is a cop; they can only use pistols and flashbangs. Whoever kills the robber becomes him in the next round; if he survives, he keeps going. City Street Large works best for this, but it can obviously be played on any map. You might think that this is skewed against the cops, but that isn\'t necessarily so - I\'ve seen more than one robber take out 4-5 cops. The cops have to learn to work together and not just storm madly into every building.
