Ugh, I actually read this, and two things popped out at me:

1) Verant wants to take over the world; Genre + crack == OURS!
2) He justifies leaving out modability by claiming that Quality of Service would suffer, i.e.: If they can't charge for it, mods are BAD.

I'm starting not to like Verant (having never played Evercrack).
