Okay I think my crappy monitor must be limiting my fps to 90 in Q3A. I have a 1.1 Ghz Athlon T-Bird running at 1Ghz and a GeForce 2 GTS and I get a flat 90 fps no matter what is going on on the screen and whether I'm running at any resolution but the very highest. I'm using my old POS monitor from my old gateway comp. I've used a console command to set the maximum fps to 150 but it doesn't change anything. And as far as I know V-Sync isn't turned on. But I don't know how to turn it off or on in Q3A anyway.

Overdose,I get a big improvement in play and speed,still looks like poo with the tnt2.I haven't try the v2's and I don't think I will.It wasn't that long ago,the tnt cards were the cards that looked good,now the only time they look good is when you are looking at them.

q3mexx1 is a very good map to check out how your machine is,very demanding.I was getting about 20fps without the dll's,with the dll's I am getting almost 40fps and that's with eight bots.

Well,I am getting better play on the tnt2 ultra,almost playable now.I really have to add,if you want to play quake3a with a good playable frame rate,you have to buy a new video card.Like the GTS2 of voodoo5-5500.JMHO. I know I'm not going to put the dll's on my machine with the GTS2,it's fast enough now.
