Updated Xbox Specs
by Maarten Goldstein, Dec 23, 2000 6:53am PSTThe MSXBox guys have noted that the Xbox official site has been updated with some updated specs of the console. Sadly, these are numbers that went down. Such as the maximum polygon performance which is now 125 million p/s instead of 150, and the speed of the DVD drive is uncertain now too. What is certain is that there will be an expansion to support DVD playback, as this won't be standard.
New video game releases of 5/21-5/27
Indie Jeff's Weekly Pick: Offspring Fling
Chatty: E3 2012, Diablo III
FileShack: SOL: Exodus, Defenders of the Last Colony
Daily Filter: Madden NFL 13, NHL 13

The second post (for now) is by
John Carmack | id Software, Mesquite, Texas. Do you think we can trust those guys that it's him or they just bullshitting us?
"You people don't seem to really know what you are talking about, none of you.
You are taking PC logic and applying it to a console. Console are made for games and games alone. While maybe 1/4 of your calculations are correct, the other 3/4 are way off base.
I have seen the current X-box prototype in action and it is a very powerful machine.
I do belive we(id softwre) will let ports be mde to it, especially for "Doom 3".
Also, RTCW is looking good, just so you know.

It doesn't sound like him. Just look at this "You people don't seem to really know what you are talking about, none of you." This sounds too offensive for JohnC. I've never heard him talk like that.
