TA CD-Key
by Maarten Goldstein, Dec 11, 2000 6:56am PSTIf it wasn't clear yet, if you buy Team Arena there will be a new CD-key which you'll need alongside your original one, to prevent pirates from freely running Team Arena. You don't need your CD in the computer though.

why?
because it will fragment the servers into haves and have nots.
look at the add-on packs for q2, and see how many servers ran them.
the same thing will happen here. the servers will default to the lowest common denominator, and they will not run anything TA specific.
at least with the q2 mission packs, you had single player to play.
with TA's focus on multiplayer, it will be a failure.
its not that we all WANTED TA to be free, its that it NEEDED to be free.
don't waste your money unless you really like to play bots.

No cd in drive? Great!
But could we please have an option not to install the useless crap (videos, music) taht will no doubt come with TA?
Please?

I can honestly say I don't even want this mod for free. Unless the maps can be used in RA3.

According to Paul you won't need any cd in a drive. Cool. I can live with a 2nd cd-key.
