The PS2's line is not that bad, considering its a release lineup.

I'd seriously look at buying one - except for the price.

Bad move including that DVD player.

The PS2 does suck ass. From both a gaming point of view and especially a monetary point of view. Sony's woes seem parallel to that of a Shakespeare play, Oh, woe is the PS2 for it doth to cometh to thee that I could not live without.
Or something similar. No real games to actually go crazy over, at this point and time, it is a glorified DVD player.

Ah good thing i didnt get a ps2 right away now, I would be pissed buying one to have one of these newer units coming up already. Ill wait and upgrade my pc instead...good thing this certain place is selling 256mb pc133 for $120 ;-)

PS2 ISSSS more powerful then dcast, and better in many ways...but the library for it TOTALLY SUCKS FUCKING ASS...not one good game at all. personally i won a dcast and love the games...but my half life mod addiction is taking all my time...the occassional q3 here and there as well. nothing beats online gaming with mouse and keyboard. dcast is just for my wanna relax and play with myself kinda deal. FRONT LINE FORCE OWNS CS! (cs still owns though, but flf is a nice upbeat change)
