Tom from Tom's Hardware has slightly changed his opinion on the Pentium4 again, after he received a special compiled version of the MPG Encoder that worked so poorly before. Now the P4 beats all the other processors, but it's funny that the Pentium3 and Athlon also got a boost in speed because of this recompile.

I think Tom is alright. He's trying his best to give us the most unbiased look at the chip as witnessed by him updating all the time when something comes up, even up to extent of changing his stand.

Why doesn't Tom let AMD make a special compiled version of the MPG Encoder for the Athlon chips. And then post benchmarks for that. I bet the Athlon would spank the P4 then. Posting benchmarks of special compiled version of anything for a certain CPU(Intel or AMD) is always going to be biased toward that chip, when will Tom learn this?
