A few months ago, Ben Brode stepped away from his role as Hearthstone Game Director and exited Blizzard Entertainment after 15 years. Speculation ran rampant as to what could possibly draw the face of Hearthstone away from his game. The answer appears to be an entirely new studio, which was revealed on Thursday.

The new studio is called Second Dinner. What is Second Dinner and what's the studio working on? There are no answers for this just yet. According to PC Gamer, Brode will act as the studio's Chief Creative Officer.

The Second Dinner website notes that everyone is still on their first dinner, so come back at a later date for more information. As soon as Second Dinner unveils its first project, Shacknews will return with a follow-up on this story. In the meantime, check out the above for one of Brode's final interviews as part of the Hearthstone team, when he joined Shacknews at PAX East.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
