Aaron Greenberg Interview: Bringing Gears of War to New Audiences

The General Marketing head is looking to expand the Gears of War audience.

Aaron Greenberg spoke with Shacknews during E3 2018 about several different topics, but discussed Gears of War and its renewed focus on PC gaming as well as Microsoft's plans for eSports in the future.

As you may well be aware, the newest addition to the Gears series, Gears 5, was announced during E3 2018 as well as Gears Tactics and Gears Pop!, both fun new spinoffs based in the same universe with totally different premises. Plenty of attention is being paid, specifically, to Gears Tactics, especially as it's a PC title.

Using Gears Tactics as an example, the team at Microsoft has been putting PC first, as Greenberg cites a desire to bring the IP to audiences who haven't really experienced Gears before.


"One of the things that you'll see is a focus on making the right games purposefully built for the platform. With Gears Tactics, that's 100% what they're doing."
