It's been a long time coming, but the crews at Bandai Namco and Project Soul are finally ready to unveil the latest installment in the SoulCalibur series. Not only has the developer given SoulCalibur 6 its final release date, Bandai Namco has also offered up some more information regarding the title's two different Collector's Edition bundles.

We'll get the most pertinent information out of the way first — SoulCalibur 6 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Friday, October 19. The base edition of the game will include both single- and multiplayer components as well as a substantial roster of available characters, including Geralt of Rivia from CD Projekt Red's series The Witcher.

Beyond the standard disc-and-case offerings will be two special Collector's Editions. Aside from the game itself, the first Collector's Edition will feature a 12" figure of Sophitia, a metal case with "built-in soundbox," a 120-page book of art, a soundtrack CD, and a special Collector's Edition box. The second Collector's Edition will include the game, the metal case and soundbox, the soundtrack CD, and the SoulCalibur 6 season pass.

It's frankly been way too long since players got their hands on a proper SoulCalibur series release — over six years, as a matter of fact. Needless to say, we're ready. Be on the lookout for SoulCalibur 6's release on October 19, and be sure to check out our full schedule of 2018 video game releases to stay on top of the latest titles.
