  • Skill level is all relative and is dependant on how many people are willing to devote time to it. I agree becoming a god at gaming takes less talent and work than a professional basketball or soccer (etc)player.

Micheal Jordan was great because he was on another level even though hundreds of other people (other professionals in the NBA, CBA, etc) have devoted their lives to the sport.

Gaming has not reached that level yet. I think it will eventually. Once a hundred or so good players start doing it professionally the draw will be enough that the competition will be there.

I define the skill needed to become a god at any sport by the number and commitment of other people. There are less people as commited to gaming as compared to other sports, but that doesn't mean that won't change.
