No release date yet, but it is coming in 2018.

Phantom Doctrine is the upcoming tactical thriller that adopts a similar experience to XCOM, but trades the aliens for spies. We saw the game for the first time at PAX East 2018 and were mesmerized by its gameplay on PC, but console players will officially be getting into the mix. When Phantom Doctrine releases later this year, it will do so on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

In Phantom Doctrine's alternate take on the Cold War, players play as a member of The Cabal, a secret organization taking on global conspiracies to control the world. In the new trailer above, we learn that the main conspiracy is an operation called The Beholder Initiative.

Players will recruit and train agents, investigate cases, forge identities, and a whole lot more on the way to unravelling the big mystery. After laying the foundation with good intel, players will be able to decide if they want to enter the field of operation stealthily or go loud with a variety of weapons.

Phantom Doctrine is due sometime later in the year, so stay tuned to Shacknews for additional E3 2018 updates.
