Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! & Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! Coming to Nintendo Switch This November

The first Pokemon RPGs coming to the Nintendo Switch return players to the Kanto region in a remake of the original Pokemon Yellow.

Pokemon fans and Nintendo Switch enthusiasts alike have been eagerly anticipating the series' Switch debut. We've known for months that a proper Nintendo Switch Pokemon RPG has been in the works, but up until now, players hadn't been given any real information on what sort of game they can expect. With regard to the upcoming mainline Pokemon entry, that may still be the case, but we've just learned that the very first Pokemon RPGs coming to the Nintendo Switch will be Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, titles which are essentially remakes of the original 1999 release Pokemon Yellow.

As can be seen in the above video posted to the official Pokemon Twitter account, the two new Pokemon Let's Go titles will return players to the Kanto region in a set of games with fully overhauled visuals and audio. Even better, the game interfaces with mobile title Pokemon Go, allowing players to transfer their Kanto-region creatures from the AR-based game into the new Switch releases, effectively giving the Switch is own method of augmented reality gameplay.

In addition to motion-based controls where players can toss Pokeballs at unsuspecting pocket monsters, players will also be able to hand off another Joy-Con controller to a friend for some two-player Pokemon-hunting fun. However, the best news of all is that the game has a firm release date: players can get their hands on Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! later this year on November 16.
