Daybreak Games has announced that H1Z1 officially surpassed 1.5 million players in a 24-hour period after launch on the PlayStation 4. A full release is scheduled for release later in 2018, but the open beta is available for free right now.

“This is an incredible milestone and we want to thank all of our player who helped make this possible,” said H1Z1 Producer Terrence Yee in the press release. “We believe we’ve found the right balance for battle royale on console and players have responded positively to our reimagining of H1Z1. We will continue to refine the game based on feedback from Open Beta to ensure the best experience possible for our actively growing community.”

H1Z1 on PS4 features a larger weapon arsenal than its PC counterpart, a fully reworked UI, and faster-paced gameplay. You can get a peek at gameplay in the video above, but also look out for some H1Z1 live streams with the Shacknews crew on Twitch in the very near future. Stay tuned for more updates! H1Z1 is available on PS4 for free right now and there are a few bundles with exclusive gear available as well.
