Confirmed! No Traditional Single-Player Campaign In Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

The PvP, three zombie campaigns, and a battle royale mode will carry the Black Ops 4 experience.

During today's gameplay reveal for Activision and Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the team showed off a plethora of gameplay modes. The PvP is adding hero-shooter style mechanics via specialists, there are three new zombie campaigns, and the new Blackout taps the growing battle royale craze with a survival battle that features assets from the length of the Black Ops series of games. All of this comes with the confirmed caveat that there's no traditional single-player campaign in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

To supplement the lack of a campaign, the new Black Ops 4 specialists will have individual missions that explore their backgrounds and special skills. These other modes will also serve as the meat for the BO4 experience:

This tidbit of information was rumored back in mid-April, with the source stating the team is doubling down on multiplayer content. That was officially confirmed during the event when a dev quickly stated this on stage before showing a final montage of gameplay. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 arrives October 12, 2018, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

This is what I want, for some reason I just don't care about singleplayer FPSes anymore, with very few exceptions (DOOM).

If they actually release a remaster of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign in its place, I'm happy. BLOPS campaigns are shit anyway.

Eh, BLOPS2 campaign had different branches and was at least more interesting. BLOPS3’s was terrible to the point I couldn’t finish it.

I really like a good, focused SP campaign in FPSes, but CoD's have become copy-and-paste jobs intended to fill out a predetermined list of required features.

At the same time, I've never had interest in CoD's MP, so I doubt I'll ever look at this one.

I like the zombie mode but have no interest in the traditional multiplayer game. But I cant say that zombies alone is going to be worth $60.

Well, I've bought every COD at launch since MW1. This takes my interest to zero.

I hope they are underestimating the amount of people like me, and the game sells poorly so we get more campaigns in the future.
