Alleged E3 Nintendo Direct Leak Reveals F-Zero SX, Punch Out, Fortnite for Switch & More

Take all this with a grain of salt, but wouldn't it be amazing if it were true?

22

Think you have some sort of idea of what Nintendo might show off during E3 2018? You might want to throw all of those notions away and think again. If a few alleged printed lists of games that may supposedly comprise the entirety of Nintendo's E3 showcase turn out to be true, we're in for quite an interesting presentation this year. Now, of course, you can't take any of this as fact, as it's very clearly a rumor. As such, we don't endorse any of this as true. With that in mind, feast your eyes on the sheets that have been floating around online.

These schedules clearly show a list of games that are meant to be shown off during the Nintendo Direct video presentation during the show. Right off the bat you see names like Punch-Out!!! Become the Champion and, right there, F-Zero SX. Both would be pretty mindblowing announcements to make this year, especially since we've been waiting for a new F-Zero for quite some time.

You'll also see ports of some heavy hitters such as Fortnite, which would mean Nintendo is about to continue printing money and carry on its usual business, because Fortnite is massive right now. There's also Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Dragon Ball FighterZ. All utilize the Unreal Engine, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus had already previously been confirmed as coming to Switch in the near future. The other games are hardly stretches, either.

Yoshi's Flipping Island seems like the real anomaly here, because the title is bizarre enough as it is, with the word "flipping" being used in place of a curse word seeming a little forcedful for a Nintendo game, but it could simply be a case of horrible titling -- who knows? It still seems extremely unlikely.

The other sheet delves into more detail with what kinds of things will be seen during the presentation, and it looks just as unbelievable as the rest of the games, but we unfortunately won't be able to confirm anything until the big day finally arrives. For now, like we already said, don't take any of this as fact, but there could be some big shake-ups coming.

What kind of games are you thinking Nintendo will reveal this year? Do you think a new F-Zero is definitely in the cards? Let us know!

      Fallout 3 Anniversary

D'oh! So close! You need to bring Fallout 4 to the Switch, not 3. Well maybe both but definitely 4.

Fortnite on Switch would most likely be Battle Royale which means almost no money to Nintendo , all the v-Bucks to Epic in microtransactions, though could help push most Switch sales.

Would drive a ton of subs to their online service too. They’d get me for sure.

Yeah, if they launch their online service with Smash and Fortnite, they are going to get a lot of traction for sure.

That's true if it requires it. I'm assuming Rocket League doesn't presently (since Psyonix runs their own servers), same would be true for Epic.

I guess it would be like online with Xbox and PS4. Any game that has multiplayer will need a subscription after it launches.

I guess that follows from Xbox version (where while F:BR is f2p, you still need Xbox Gold).

I am sure it will require it. If Nintendo's own Mario Kart and Splatoon will require the subscription, I am pretty confident every 3rd party multiplayer online game will also.

        There’s other advantages:

        - Nintendo doesn’t want to miss out on the biggest gaming phenomenon since Minecraft

        - Nintendo gets to show third party developers that putting your recent, modern game on the Switch is a good idea

        - Nintendo, unlike Sony, is fine with cross platform multiplayer. You could be playing with Xbox users, iPhone users, etc.

        - Epic gets to show that the Unreal Engine can pull off a game that runs the same on everything from an Xbox to a Switch to a phone.

That’s not how revenue splits work on any platform, they’d most definitely be making a cut off of Fortnite

Yeah, it's going to be playable, in fact from the sounds of it I think they're done on development. If they're holding out for Switch Online stuff they'll be making balance tweaks till it comes out or finish up the last couple of stages. Entirely possible we see some other stuff but it sounds like Smash is the big gun with a possibility of Pokémon showing up.

Yes, the invitational is Smash 5. Terrific lineup of players, mostly top guys like Armada, Mango, Lucky, Plup, Zero. Leffen is a standby, which is crazy but maybe they didn't want it to be too stacked with "gods".

I'm really surprised that they have so many Melee players there, I wonder if that means anything for the style of this new game compared to Smash 4.

Haven't they said that their focus at E3 this year is Smash Bros and Mario Tennis? Those games seem too high profile to be part of their presentation if that’s the case.

The best article Shacknews can produce is a Rumor Mill postmortem of E3 after E3 is over.

This paper, the gamefaqs "leak". Dissect them all and show where they got it wrong and things they got right based off of publicly available knowledge.
