The first-person shooter survival horror video game series S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is returning with the just-announced S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Ukrainian video game developer GSC Game World has thrown up a teaser website with only distorted white text on a black background with the game's title. Unfortunately, that's just about all we know just yet, until more information comes down the pipeline.

The first game in the series made its debut in 2007, and we last heard from GSC Game World with another entry in 2009. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is currently planned for a 2021 release, so at least you've got some time to sit and finish up the rest of the series, or think about how cool it'd be if you had time to do so with all the other awesome games coming out too.

Typically, these games place you within "The Zone," or a way creepier version of the real-world Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, where experimental labs where erected for scientists to experiment with special psychic abilities. This messing about resulted in another disaster beyond the original Chernobyl meltdownn, which started causing some pretty freaky stuff to happen, such as "Anomalies" and mutating flora and fauna...especially humans.

E3 2018 is right around the corner, so if we hear anything about the upcoming release, as Shacknews newshounds will be covering the show live, you can bet we'll let you know the deets.
