Dead Cells made an appearance on our Best Early Access Game of 2017 coverage and is full-speed-ahead toward officially launching. The seventh update is a significant step toward launch and the game's producer has revealed what the final step looks like.

“With the seventh update rolling out on Early Access, Dead Cells is very close to being content complete, the lore being the last piece of the puzzle we’re working on for launch day," Motion Twin Producer Steve Filby says in the press release. "Although version 1.0 definitely won’t be the end, as we’ve already promised one major free DLC to the community that made all of this possible.”

Live now, the Baguette update reworks the core game and overhauls the item upgrade system. When you dive into the roguelike next, The Forge, legendary item drops, new customization options, and an updated UI await.

Dead Cells is currently available via Steam of GOG in early access. The game has a $19.99 price tag currently and will likely go up after launch. Dead Cells is slated for release on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PS4 sometime this year as well. Stay tuned to Shacknews for more updates.
