New Agony Trailer Delves Into The Game's Surreal, Horrifying Narrative

Good news, everyone! Agony is still just as creepy as it was the last time we saw a trailer.

Madmind Studios and Maximum Games' gory horror game Agony has a new trailer out, and it's just the right mix of terrifying and intriguing. But rather than simply flashing disturbing imagery onscreen and letting us parse what we're seeing, we're given a little more information about the narrative this time around.

The three-minute trailer explains the protagonist's fall into Hell, as well as the darkness and torment he experiences down there. It's not pretty, but no one would expect it to be with creatures walking around that look like they have female reproductive organs for heads.

The Red Goddess is the "answer" for our protagonist, who helped create this hellish nightmare world, so of course it makes sense that she might know a way out. But in true horror fashion, that probably couldn't be further from the truth, not that she'd help you anyway.

I don't kow about you, but I'm really digging this game a little more every time I see it, especially the time the Red Queen picks up this weird skeletal fetus man and then throws him into the jaws of a waiting monster. I'm actually jealous that I wasn't a part of the team that put this game together, I mean HOLY CRAP, YOU CAN PULL THIS DUDE'S EYE OUT OF HIS EYE SOCKET. DID YOU SEE THAT?

Agony is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on May 29.

Whoa, that is some seriously next-level messed up shit in that video. I feel uncomfortable even watching that stuff.. this game holds no interest for me.

It comes out right before Vampyr, too.

Fortunately I will only play these at night, so you’ll still have me around being a chatty bitch.

I'm so remarkably annoyed that I am still going to be in training for my new job until the middle of next month, so I won't be able to give either of those games the time they deserve. But on the bright side I'll be making decent money so I might treat myself to an upgrade from my GTX 660 so I can crank them both to the max when I actually have time to play them!

Brittany: glad you’re following this one for Shack. The game’s getting the AO content patch after release for PC. That’s good Shack article fodder ;)

Looks...interesting. F.E.A.R 2 still holds the top all time scare the fuck out of me o-meter spot. I see this one has some nice T&A with titty bounce too.

the article designer really needs to widen the content column. Embedded youtube videos are forced to be 4:3 and that's terrible.
