Shack's Arcade Corner: Nightmare in the Dark

Greg Burke is back with a look at a lesser known arcade game from the early 2000s.

This week on Shack's Arcade Corner, we take a look at Nightmare in the Dark. This arcade exclusive title first popped up on NEO GEO machines, but was brought to arcades in 2000. It was the only game ever developed by AM Factory and was an action/platform game with some puzzle elements. Players could jump and attack enemies on screen, but were unable to jump down from platforms without walking off of them. The charged up fireball would decimate enemies on the screen and played a strategic role in the gameplay. It was a surprisingly difficult game with some intense boss battles and twenty levels. Nightmare in the Dark never saw any official console ports and was largely forgotton due to the timing of its release. Please check out the video for more info on the game.
