PAX East 2018 is in full swing, and the Shacknews team has taken to the showroom floor to seek out new games and game details straight from developers and producers themselves. Greg Burke got a chance to sit down with Daniel Stahl, producer for World of Warcraft, to discuss some of the finer points of the upcoming Battle for Azeroth expansion.

Loads of different points concerning the upcoming expansion were discussed. Among the highlights are adjustments to NPC behavior as well as enemy AI, the likes of which should soon offer increased levels of challenge and realism. Stahl also talked toward the efforts from the crew at Blizzard to shake up the formula with new story elements, offering players the chance to see the conflict between the Horde and the Alliance in an all-new light.

The team at Blizzard specifically seems bound and determined for Battle for Azeroth to be a very lore-focused expansion, and Stahl was more than willing to spell out some of the story elements and characters the team is hoping to round out in the latest release.

The World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth expansion is slated to release for PC on August 14. To stay on top of the latest news and industry insider details from PAX East 2018, be sure to check out Shacknews' official Twitch page.
