Huge Baldur's Gate2 Demo

Shattering all records when it comes to demo sizes, Fileplanet is premiering a demo of the epic RPG Baldur's Gate2..at a crazy 640mb. Yes, that's 1 CD worth. Big enough for Fileplanet to break it down to seven files. File 1, file 2, file 3, file 4, file 5, file 6 and file 7. Good luck dialup users heh.

The Baldur's Gate II demo covers chapter one of the game in which you must find a way out of your captor's prison. This demo uses a complete version of the game engine so you will be able to create your character, watch the movies, talk with non-player characters and fight. You can import your character and saved game into Baldur's Gate II if you decide to purchase the game. The demo does not have multiplayer enabled.

    Sorry for all the hassels with this demo. InterPlay released it and we didn't even know about it until we starting getting e-mails about demo problems. "What downloadable BG2 demo?" was our general reaction. That was when we found out about it. We are in a tough spot because even we don't know exactly what the heck has been released. The only demo that we know of is the one that appeared on the cover of Computer Gaming World. If this is the same demo, just repackaged, we are not sure how the installer will react to not being installed from a CD. Since we are having problems downloading the Demo ourselves we can't even begin to test it and find out what is going wrong. And we have Friday off, so we won't be able to start investigating until Monday. For now, you will have to contact InterPlay support.
