GDC 2018: Suda51 Gameplay Interview - Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes

The legendary Suda51 sat down with us at the GDC 2018 Nindies event to talk about the latest adventure for Travis Touchdown.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes was playable for the first time at GDC 2018's Nindies Showcase. We caught up with developer Suda51 to chat about the game and some of his other games. Suda51 cited late 1980s games as the inspiration for Travis Touchdown's brand new adventure. Suda cited old school upward-scrolling games as influences for the Travis Strikes Again level that was shown at GDC 2018 and proclaimed that "You definitely know your games," when I suggested that Commando is a great example of a game from that genre. We went on to discuss the challenges and opportunities that arose from working with Nintendo Switch and Unreal Engine 4 for the first time. Suda51 also reaffirmed his efforts to remaster Killer7 and encouraged everyone to "Do it for Shacknews!"
