How To Get Cosmetics In Warhammer: Vermintide 2

Those lucky enough to stumble upon Cosmetic items will be able to deck out their favorite Vermintide 2 characters.

There are a lot of systems and mechanics in play within Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Most of them are fairly self-explanatory, but others won't start to make sense until players start doing some proper exploring. Among the menus to select new equipment or craft new items, players will spot a Cosmetics category that can be used to change the appearance of the selected hero. However, Cosmetics are hard to come by, and players could go dozens of hours without ever finding one. Here's how Cosmetics work in Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and how some players can earn a few of them for free.

Cosmetic Items in Warhammer: Vermintide 2

Anyone with proper time spent in Fatshark's latest title have seen a change in appearance when switching between individual character careers, but players can also customize their looks through the Cosmetics menu, which can be accessed through the Inventory or through the dresser in the room south of the armory.

Within the Cosmetics menu, players can cycle between their current collections of Hats, Skins, and Frames. Hats cycle between different headgear options, while Skins typically offer new outfits for a given Career. Lastly, Frames offer a cosmetic option that serves as a decorative border for the player's on-screen icon.

As for where Cosmetic items can be found, it's hard to say. Players have reported that Cosmetic items are technically available as standard in-game drops, though they do seem to be exceedingly rare. However, players can get a few easy Cosmetic items assuming they can fulfill certain criteria: owners of the previous Vermintide release will be given Cosmetic items to change their character's appearance to something mirroring the original game's heroes, and players who bought the Vermintide 2 Collector's Edition will be given an alternate skin for each individual hero's initial career.

It's very likely that Fatshark may have more plans regarding future Hats or Skins in Warhammer: Vermintide 2, particularly considering that so few of them have shown up in-game so far. Until now, players will have to continue making the most out of loot chests and commendation boxes in the hopes of scoring a Cosmetic item.
