I've descided that after all this PS2 crap, that I'm going to get a DC. Shenmu, Soul Caliber, Crazy Taxi, and of course, that Pern game draw me....Plus you can copy DC games easier :)

Does anyone know if the problems w/ DVD playing are in the rom-flashable driver? I dont want to get a unit that I have to return to sony because of a wonky DVD driver.

I know that the current game lineup sucks.

I do want to get one for some of the game on the way and the DVD capability. But I'm not going to preorder one and have them take my 325 bucks until next spring.

Who said that "everyone who was going to buy a ps2 already has one" ?? That's the most inaccurate statement I've ever heard. Hell, just about every male between the ages of 20-30 at work is going to get one, and nobody has got one yet.

We're too busy to care about the release, but we will pick one up sooner or later.

The question I have is this, How was more money made than most anticipated? The article states the opening was more than most had anticipated. Well, they knew how many were being sold, and pretty much everyone must have expected that with that few being provided they would sell out. They knew the price of each said unit. Therefore they should have known exactly how much they would make off of it. Unless they counted the number of games that were bought, but those were on sale before the launch date of the system.

HEH, PS2 owners must be REALLY bored now...the idea of owning a PS2 has lost its appeal and now they are stuck with the fact that there are NO good games to play.I'll be having fun with Jet grind radio and tony hawk 2, then in about a week I'll have Shen Mue to keep me happy, plus I can always play NFL2K1 and NBA2K1 with some friends ONLINE or off.
instead of reading this..go look at DC's release list for the rest of the year and then look a PS2's...hahahha...then add in broadband for DC by Jan.
I'll end up with a PS2 only when there are games out for it that justify the purchase....BUT I'll give my PS2 away when Xbox comes out ONLY because I know Xbox will have every game PS2 has and more and as we all know the Xbox versions will be MUCH better.

You know, I kinda like the Xbox now. It forces game makers like ID to put out a product with no bugs in it. Seems worth it to buy, IMHO. :)

Ok, all of the gamers here seem to be DC or XBox fanboys. Don't know how you can be a fanboy of an unreleased system (XBox), but there appear to be those types here.

Well, here is a question abou the XBox. Will there actually be good console type controllers available for the XBox, or will it only support pieces of shit like Microsoft's flimsy crappalishiss SideWinder controllers. Sure it will most likely support high quality keyboards and mice, but if its going to survive as a console system, its going to have to have good game pad controllers.

Oh, and the default DC controllers are beyong messed up as far as crappy designs go. Not saying that the DC or its games suck, but its controller is just plain dumb. Its big, bits clumbsy... reminds me of Daikatana.
