March Free PS Plus Games Headlined by Bloodborne, No More PS3 or Vita Games Going Forward

Sony is going all in on the PS4 with its Plus subscription from here on.

Bloodborne, the hardcore RPG from the developers of the incredible Demon's Souls, will be featured in the collection of free games available to PlayStation Plus subscribers alongside PS4 reboot of Ratchet and Clank. There are a couple PS3 and Vita titles available in March as well, but it brings us one month closer to it being the last time. Plus subscriptions will only net subscribers free PS4 games after March 8, 2019, but this will not affect games already in your library prior to that date.

The PlayStation blog dropped the sad news covering changes to the subscription service:

Starting next year on March 8, 2019, the PS Plus monthly games lineup will focus on PS4 titles and no longer include PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita titles. This won’t affect any games you’ve already downloaded, or will download, prior to March 8, 2019. Those games will still be part of your PS Plus games library as long as you remain a member. Your game saves and other benefits of PS Plus will also remain the same – the only change is that no new PS3 and PS Vita games will be added to the PS Plus monthly games lineup beyond March 8, 2019.
Many of our fans are playing on the PS4 platform, with the increasingly vast number of PS4s in homes around the world. We’ll continue to prioritize the benefits you receive through your PS Plus membership, such as online multiplayer, online game save storage, PS4 monthly games, and exclusive PS Store discounts across content and network services.

There's no telling if the lack of PS3 and Vita games means more PS4 titles will be included each month, but one can hope. In addition to Bloodborne and Ratchet & Clank, PS3 owners will get Legend of Kay and Mighty No. 9 (cross-buy with PS4). Vita users' final treats are Claire: Extended Cut (cross-buy with PS4) and Bombing Busters (cross-buy with PS4). Don't forget to grab Far Cry 4 and the rest of February's free PS Plus titles while you still have time.Claire: Extended Cut

Sweet! I've always wanted to try Bloodborne. :D

RIP PS3/Vita games. I used to hop on my PS3 and purchase the stuff just in case, but even that I haven't done in a while.

Hold up. The article says only one more month of PS3 and Vita games but the quote says 2019.. so it's a year, right? Am I reading that right?
