Fans of old school and retro FPS titles who also happen to own an Xbox One are in for a treat. Turok and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil will both be getting an Xbox One remaster and are available for pre-order now. The remasters were originally developed by Nightdive Studios for a Steam release back in 2015 and will digitally launch for Xbox One on March 2.

Titular character Turok first made his dinosaur hunting debut as a comic book character back in 1954, but it was the character's revival in the 1990s that led to the creation of the Nintendo 64's classic series. Turok 1 was hailed as a shining example of what could be done visually on the N64. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil quickly followed suit a year after the first game's release and won its own round of accolades.

Along with the pre-order announcement, Nightdive also released a brand-new teaser trailer which can be checked out below:

Turok and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil are available for pre-order now for $19.99 each and will launch for Xbox One on March 2.

Turok 1 was a bad game right? I rented it like 3 times and thought it sucked. Even without fog the level design and enemies were butt

Gunplay was awesome, graphics were great with the exception of the fog, weapons were fun. Jumping puzzles were probably the worst part of the game, even worse than the fog.

I loved it back in the day. It's a bit simple going back to it now.

But the first time I shot a guy in the neck and he staggered around realistically with blood squirting everywhere was a revelation.

Turok was an interesting and forward-thinking title that really just suffered from the draw distance. Movement, level design, and gunplay was all really well done imo.

Turok 2 was a bit of a mess with shitty ammo distribution, enemies that required too many shots, and level design that edged closer to tedious side of complex instead of interesting. Play it until you realize the ammo levels are bullshit, give yourself infinite ammo, and then enjoy the rest of the game.

Plus it’s the one and only game I ever had on the N64 that would semi-regularly lock up, and I used the memory expansion pack. Like, out of the blue frozen. Music still plays. Nothing to do but turn it off.

I played the fuck outta that game. Had the best weapons. Especially 2. To date I wanna say Turok 2 has the best weapons of any FPS.

i remember playing it on PC when it came out and it was awful. I remember getting fed up with hazy environments and forcing me to clumsily first person platform

I remember Turok had a badass nuclear gun or something. Would countdown and blow everything up.

WHY? granted this game was just OK to me. so many other amazing masterpieces they can remaster, they choose mofuggin turok? this shit wont even break even. Anyone born after 98 has no idea who the fuck Turok even is and anyone old enough really doesn't care?

Can some Turok shack SUPER-FAN fill me in what I am missing here? Bizzaro remaster announcement of the decade for me.

I am probably wrong and this was on N64, I know I was getting my FPS fill on PC at that time with some goldeneye here or there. Who knows killing dinosaurs is always awesome I guess.

Turok 2 ran at like sub-15 FPS even with the expansion pack. But the graphics were awesome and the cerebral bore is one of the best guns ever.
