Woah, it looks like Sega really is looking at all kinds of new business ideas. At a recent Japanese briefing the console company showed off a PCI card for PCs that allowed people to play Dreamcast games on their computers. Thanks Stomped. Oh and here's the kicker:

... early designs were being demoed to interested second parties. It was indicated that there may be a release by the end of this year.

  • "Sega could have also stopped the user exodus if they had released Panzer Dragoon Saga and Shining Force III in the same timeframe as FF7 was released, and given both games marketing equal to FF7."

Very true. It's too bad cause both of these games absolutely shit on FF7 and FF8.

"Square's imbalacing weight with most console players is still obvious: ask a PS2 owner what 5 games he got the system for, and the most likely answers will be FFX, FFXI, The Bouncer, Z.O.E., and MGS2. All those games are around a year off. That's imbalance."

This is just because the general public is full of idiots. Why would you buy a system now when all those games are so far off? It makes no sense. Couple that with the fact that the quality of Squaresoft games has dropped each time the company releases one, and people will realize Square shouldn't be such a powerhouse. The problem is that the public does NOT realize this.
