Computer and Video Games has news of an massively multi-player online game by Westwood called Earth & Beyond (thanks BluesNews). Supposedly, this game will allow you to explore space in starships or pursue an alternate life on one of 200 (!) planets. You can select different career types, such as a bounty hunter or a soldier. The game has been in development for almost five years and should be announced at E3 2001, with plans to launch the title in November of the same year. The source for the CVG story is unnamed, so it could be bullshit. Looking forward to a MMORPG that doesn't involve a medieval setting or magic though. Update Gamers.com got in contact with Westwood who say the story is wildy inaccurate, but they are indeed working on a massively multiplayer game which will be announced by the end of the year.
