During their conference, HTC announced the HTC Vive Pro. It's an upgrade over the original Vive that increases resolution, includes integrated audio, and more. On the software end, the company is overhauling Viveport and has shared some new images and video of the upcoming overhaul.

Considered the largest upgrade to the Viveport platform since launch, Viveport VR will take the traditional 2D catalog and show it off will immersive and interactive previews.

“Viveport is moving to a VR first experience model, and with the all-new Viveport VR, we are changing the way consumers discover, experience and acquire VR content,” said Rikard Steiber, president, Viveport, in the announcement's press release. "Until now, there has not been a shopping and browsing experience that takes advantage of the full functionality of VR. Available in early access today, Viveport VR increases interaction with content and offers developers a preview that showcases the quality of their titles and experiences.”

Another aspect of the improvements being made to Vive software is the inclusion of Vimeo. The native VR video player Vive Video is now pulling in content from one of the world's largest ad-free open video platforms.
