Arena of Valor is a game with quite the storied history. Not only has it become a massive sensation over in China, where it's addictive power been compared to drugs and where the development team has created self-imposed regulations to in order to stem further addiction, it's also become one of the most popular MOBA titles in gaming history, with the title now playing host to over 100 million daily active players. It's been slated to come to the Nintendo Switch for a while now, too, but mobile players in the United States can now get an early look at the action, as Arena of Valor soft launched in North America just yesterday.

It's worth noting that the Arena of Valor "soft launch" appears to be basically identical to a full-scale rollout of any other game: players can who download the current version can enjoy the full game and all available features, despite the in-game store showing a soft launch promotion that will run from now through January 3. The complete version of the game has been out for years in other territories by now, of course, so it makes sense that the game would be essentially complete at the time of writing. However, with that January 3 date closing it, it may be that the team at Tencent has some bigger launch plans in mind.

Either way, we'll find out when we find out. Until then, players can drop into Arena of Valor now for the chance to scoop up an exclusive skin for the hero Arthur. Check it out by heading over to the Google Play Store on Android devices or the Apple App Store on iOS devices.
